Rose
A pale yellow, olive yellow or reddish brown
oil, with a sweet floral scent. It takes 30 damask roses to produce
1 drop of essential oil ! Rose petals have been used over the
ages to scent water and provide room fragrance. There is a legend
that the Moghul Prince Jehangir ensured that every canal in the
royal gardens was filled with rose petals to celebrate his wedding.
His wife noticed the thin film of rose oil floating on the top
and had it bottled. Rose Otto is one of the most expensive substances
in the world. A truly feminine oil, renowned for it's sensual
fragrance and calming / balancing nature.
Uses: excellent remedy for disorders of the female system,
traditionally used as an anti-depressant and for nervousness,
sadness and stress. Good for mature, dry and sensitive skin. Helps
lift the spirit and enhance moods ; promotes sensual feelings,
relieves hayfever and asthma, eases PMT, period pain and menopausal
