Bergamot

An light green essential oil with a zesty, fruity, sweet citrus scent. Has a strong sedative effect on the nervous system, although it is reviving and uplifting to the spirit. Excellent when used as an antiseptic. Used in Earl Grey Tea and in eau-de-cologne.

Uses: Abscesses, asthma, boils, common cold, cystitis, eczema, fever, greasy skin, hair care, high blood pressure, sinusitis, spots, stress, thrush, urinary tract infections.

Methods: Baths, Massage, Skin Oil, Vaporisation.

Caution: Only use 'bergapten' free oil for skin care as it is phototoxic - ie discolours the skin when exposed to sunlight.
