Facial Masks
|
- Use this recipe for a wonderful face mask. Take 1 heaped tablespoon
of Fullers' Earth or Kaolin powder and mix with 2 tablespoons
water and half a teaspoon of clear honey. Add 1 drop Lavender
and 1 drop Geranium
essential oils. Apply to the face which will prepare the skin
for the perfect smooth make-up.
- Alternatively, give your face a steam bath once a week which
will help rehydrate the skin, cleanse pores and eliminate grime.
Simply fill a basin with boiling water and cover the head with
a towel. Add 6-10 drops of your choice of essential oils (Lavender
or Geranium are good) Let the steam work on your face and allow
the face to cool down before making up a simple clay face mask.
Mix 2 drops Geranium
oil, 3 drops Lavender
and 1 drop Lemon oil
in 30mls of hot water and then mix with enough Kaolin to make
a smooth paste. Leave on the face for 10-15 minutes and then using
your fingertips, rub the dried mask away so you exfoliate at the
same time. Wash off any remaining residue. This face mask also
works well as a body mask or scrub.
- Fruit Crush Mask - good for oily or blemished skins. Mash the
fruit together, drain off the juice and mix the pulp with the
kaolin until it forms a smooth paste. Apply to a clean face.
- Cooling Cucumber Mask - good for sensitive or inflamed skin.
Slice a cucumber that has been in the fridge into very thin slices
and place over a damp face. Relax!
- Avocado Moisturising Mask -good for dry and mature skins. Take
½ ripe avocado, ½ teaspoon of avocado oil and 2 tablespoons of
thick cream. Mix all ingredients together and apply to a damp
face.
